Born from the dead?

Born again from the dead? If I can bring anybody from the dead, I would bring this character back to life and give him a chance to live again. This character may not be exactly human, but a special character whom I would like to give a second shot at. The one and only Gregory Samsa. He is a fictional character from the novella, Metamorphosis but his tragic way of life triggered me to give him a second shot of his life again.

From the beginning of the novella, Gregory Samsa wakes up as a “hideous monster” and gets rejected by every single members of his family. I could see that he is trying his best not to harm others by hiding himself in his room, a total selfless act one can do to for his family, but his family just neglects him and continues on with their life without paying attention to their so called, “son”. If Gregory Samsa could be back from the dead, I would acknowledge his concern and at least be there for him, to listen to his concerns or talk to him about anything in particular.

Throughout the story, I felt that if there was at least someone whom he can communicate or associate with, he would have been off much better, and not come out of his room to get hit by an apple. Gregory's death seemed unfair and that life itself was unfair. People seemed to be too focused on certain stereotypes that a little change in the appearance would make that person an outsider. If I could serve dinner to Gregory Samsa for a night, I would provide him with rotten foods, whatever he feels satisfied eating for the night. I would be happy just to fill his stomach so he could have a good night rest with a full stomach.

If I could bring someone from the dead, it would be Gregory Samsa, and serve him his favorite foods to satisfy his hunger, something that he couldn't fulfill in the story, Metamorphosis.
